Tele-surveillance of Alzheimer syndrome affected patients using a SinapticaMED innovative web-based system with GPS technology, ALoIS. Position, movement and deviation from pre-defined areas can be controlled, resulting in an efficient and inexpensive assistance tool.
The ALoIS system (acronym for Alzheimer Locating Internet Service) is based on two different SinapticaMED technological solutions: the web platform, represented by the digital clinical case history ClinicOnline®, and the portable GPS/GPSR geolocalizator Raphael Mini. ALoIS allowed functions are are: - GPS Loc: allows the ALoIS system to locate a patient via web through his Raphael Mini device and to check his position; - Anchor: thanks to this feature, in case a patient moves more than 300 meters away from a defined point, ALoIS system alerts, via Sms, the predefined cellular phone numbers; - Ice Alarm: on the geolocalizator there is a button that allows patients to send an emergency Sms to predefined cellular phones and to be immediately located.
Through the digital clinical case history ClinicOnline®, accessible from anywhere through a common web browser, an authorized operator can request a given patient’s location (ICE Loc) and immediately check on a Google Map where he is. Furthermore, the GEO Loc, Anchor and ICE Alarm functions translate into a more efficient control of the patient, working on tele-surveillance critical issues.
The use of the digital clinical case history ClinicOnline® as a web-based platform makes the ALoIS system an ideal tool to be used within the professional assistance field. All operations conducted are trailed, safeguarding the operator as well as the patient. Data transfer is done via Internet or SMS with operational and technological protocols fully compliant with data privacy regulations.
ALoIS | Main highlights The use of SinapticaMED ALoIS service offers many and immediate highlights to patients and healthcare structures, that can improve service quality streamlining costs and already existing resources.
EFFICIENCY The ALoIS system is bidirectional, which means that allows the operators to passively locate an Alzheimer syndrome affected patient, but thanks to the active features of Raphael Mini (Anchor and ICE Alarm) it also allows to receive timely reports on potentially dangerous situations. Furthermore, this solutions uses, as a web-based platform, the digital clinical case history ClinicOnline®, widely tested and tuned within the hospital and clinical environment, that offers a front-end tool of proved efficacy for a professional use. Characteristics: - bidirectional systems usage; - geolocalizator active functions; - web-based platform of proven efficacy.
EFFICACY The ALoIS system operates and solves critical issues in Alzheimer affected patient tele-surveillance: areas without a satellite coverage and timeliness in case of movement; the Memo Loc and Anchor functions give an efficient answer to these problems highly improving patients security guaranties. The use of the clinical case history ClinicOnline®, as a web-based platform, improves the system with qualifying features and characteristics: the operator can immediately have, without needing to access any other source, the clinical profile of his patient in order to conduct a targeted and adequate intervention to solve a given situation; besides, the ALoIS system inherits all ClinicOnline®’s procedural characteristics and techniques being fully compliant with privacy regulations - a vital condition for a professional tool. Characteristics: - solves tele-surveillance most important issues; - makes patient’s clinical data available at hand; - is compliant with Italian Data Privacy regulations (196/2003).
COSTS REDUCTION SinapticaMED offers solutions with a high innovative content able to improve the quality of patients healthcare assistance. But we are not happy enough! For us, a given tool translates into real value only when it also gives place to an economical resources streamlining. For this reason, ALoIS service is based on the use of already existing infrastructures, without needing to make particular investments, and is configured as an open platform that will be able to dialogue with future geolocalizator hardware (more compact and performing) without loosing data records that have been being entered for years. Characteristics: - does not need any investment on personal computers or specific software; - has no installation, maintenance or software updating costs; - the data base is kept in memory even in case future generation geolocalizators are to be used.
